The culinary scene in Seiser Alm and the surrounding area is a treasure trove for fans of traditional cooking. The quality of the region's cuisine has been recognised for centuries: Kaiser Franz Joseph used to have loaves of Völser bread delivered to his table in Vienna. For a taste of the past, dishes from old recipe books can still be tasted during the annual ‘Genusswochen’ (taste weeks) in all three villages in the Schlern National Park. For instance during ‘Hexenzauber-wochen’ (magic weeks) in May or during the ‘Knödeltagen’ (dumpling days) at the end of September. Have a browse and enjoy some tasty, traditional treats!
